William's Story was produced for BBC
Wales' 1990s flagship arts series The Slate.
This
documentary feature
explored the work of ethnic Chinese and Welsh
born portrait photographer William Tsui. In
the film, William, the son of a migrant Hong
Kong restauranteur, embarks upon a journey across
Wales to rediscover his roots as he photographs
the families who run Chinese take-away restaurants.
An Asian search for identity in the landscapes
of rural north Wales and the valleys of the
south. Director: Mike Sweet.
The Slate
won a BAFTA Wales Award in 1995 for Best Magazine/Feature
Programme.
