Avanti Television for BBC Features

On the centenaryof Giuseppe Marconi sending and receiving the first ever radio message across water, (accomplished off the coast of South Wales in 1897), the independent production company Avanti Television was commissioned to produce a live seven camera outside broadcast music event, celebrating the centenary.

Produced in association with BBC Radio 1, the production was presented by Danni Minogue and featured six leading pop bands including The Stereophonics, Catatonia, and Paul Weller. The production featured a floating stage in Cardiff Bay, the focus of inner city regeneration in Wales' capital city.
